James van Smeerdijk is a seasoned strategist and policy advisor who founded atticusnow, a boutique consulting firm that advises governments, businesses, and universities on strategy, policy, and economic development. With a focus on innovation precincts and commercialisation strategies, James brings a deep understanding of the intersection between public policy and technological innovation.
Prior to founding atticusnow, James was a Partner at PwC, where he led the Victorian Government practice and co-founded PwC’s Indigenous Consulting. He also served as CEO of the Allen Consulting Group, a Senior Fellow at Melbourne Business School, and an Executive in the Victorian Treasury. His extensive experience in government, economics, and strategy, along with his broad network, has been invaluable to VensoGrow since its inception. As a board member, James provides expert guidance on policy, strategy, and government relations, ensuring VensoGrow is well-positioned to navigate regulatory landscapes and achieve long-term growth.
